Community club sweeps up PAIF grant

With activities including hip hop, bingo, photography lessons and pool, it’s no wonder the Davoren Park Youth & Community Club needs a heavy-duty vacuum cleaner.

The Club was awarded $650 from the Playford Alive Initiatives Fund and Betty Alberton says she is looking forward to throwing away the broom.

“The vacuum cleaner will make a lot of difference,” she says.

It’s the first step in her plan to make the interior of the club an even warmer and more inviting community area, especially for young people who need a meeting place.

“Before this, there was nowhere else in the area where they could sit around and talk, have an outlet, and something to be involved in,” Betty says.

The club is located at the Davoren Park Shopping Centre on Peachey Road.
