Lisa McAskill helps Molly, with St Columba students Sam, Ben, Athaing, Jayna and Gahndi

These feet were made for walking to school safely

Walking to school is fun and good for the brain and the body.

Exercise and knowledge about road rules are important and Walk Safely to School Day is the perfect opportunity to begin a good morning habit and teach kids road safety.

St Columba College primary students are embracing the initiative with the help of Walk Safely Ambassador and Postcards presenter Lisa McAskill, who visited the school to promote the day.

Lisa says walking to school gives parents time to chat with their children about their surroundings and road safety.

Five-year-old Molly, who is showing Lisa the way, says she loves walking to school every day “because it’s healthy for you”.
